How long can food be stored for?

How long does food last?

For a three month supply, its best to refer to the can expiration date. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints suggests the following dates for your longer term storage.

Research shows that these common longer-term food storage items, if they are properly packaged and stored at or belowroom temperature (75 degrees F; 24 degrees C), remain nutritiousand edible much longer than previously thought. Even after longtermstorage, these foods can help sustain life in an emergency.
